This is the first poll we’ve seen of this race since a Bright internal showed Jay Lovin’ closing a 10-point Bright lead into a dead heat. GOP state Senator Harri Anne Smith, who lost the GOP primary to Love in a vicious battle, endorsed Bright on Monday — so we might be seeing the effect of a Smith bump here.
Daily Kos will be releasing a poll of this district soon, so we’ll have an independent view of this race shortly.
Bobby Bright is probably my fav of the bunch. It doesn’t get much more Dixie than him.
I’ll be interested to see what R2000 thinks of the race. Bright seems like a very strong candidate and I hope he wins.
It seems like teye all live up to appearance stereotypes. The deep south republican congressmen are mostly fat pasty-faced, “white only” country-club types. While the southern dems seem to look like no-nonsense blue collar everyman types that you wouldn’t want to get in a fistfight with. I wouldn’t want to get into a fight with Gene Taylor, would you?
